B-Line Urban Delivery
From Portland Afoot
B-Line Urban Delivery is a Portland-based, bicycle-powered cargo and promotion business, launched in 2009. Its fleet of bikes haul cargo in boxes on which advertising space is sold.
Founder and CEO Franklin Jones said in 2012 that at the time, about 60 percent of the firm's revenue came from deliveries, which are priced to cover their own marginal costs, and most of the rest of the revenue from advertising and promotional services, which funds the company's marketing and expansion.
Jones said he was considering expanding the company to other markets, including Seattle, San Francisco and Austin.
