Washington Park MAX station
From PortlandAfoot
The Washington Park MAX station is an underground stop on TriMet's Blue Line and Red Line that connects via elevator to the Oregon Zoo and Washington Park above, including the International Rose Test Garden.
At 260 feet beneath the surface, the station is the deepest in North America and was described by TriMet in 2011 as "the second-deepest in the world."
The elevator connection to the hilltop in Portland's west hills makes it possible for Zoobombers to use the station to easily get their bikes to the top of the hill, then cruise down.
