Michael Andersen lives in northeast Portland's North Tabor neighborhood and mostly rides the 19, the 75, the 70, the Blue, Green and Red MAX lines and his bike, the U.S.S. Enterprise. It's a 24-speed silver Marin Larkspur he picked up from Revolver Bikes on Interstate and Rosa Parks.

He's the editor and publisher of Portland Afoot and the executive director of Portland in the Round. He's freelanced for The Oregonian, The Columbian and Crosscut, edits a blog about market-oriented poverty solutions called Global Envision and sometimes writes about journalism startups at oldforestnewtrees.com and NiemanLab.org. He's a co-founder of the Oregon News Incubator, too.

[edit] Portland Afoot: the video introduction

Portland videographer T.A. Barnhart made this great 90-second video introduction to Portland Afoot's print product. (Yes, that's Michael's actual house.)
