From PortlandAfoot
TriMet's bus purchase schedule reflects the agency's efforts to replace its bus fleet, one of the oldest in the United States.
As of February 2011, the agency had 161 buses (26% of its fleet) with 18 years of service or more. The fleet's average age was 12 years.
