Ted Buehler
From Portland Afoot
Ted Buehler is a bicycle advocate, active transportation activist and a leader in Portland's Bike Temple (where he identifies as "Pasture Ted") and Active Right of Way.
"I believe in bicycles," his Facebook page declares.
Others confirm this.
"What an evangelist!" PSU student Naomi Bloom told Portland Afoot after Buehler's visit to her class on the sociology of bicycles in summer 2010. "I'm a 77-year-old non-bike-rider, but I had a moment there."
Buehler holds a master's degree in Transportation Technology and Policy from the University of California at Davis, where he spent two years preparing a master's thesis for the Institute for Transportation Studies that closely examined the success of bicycling in Davis and how it might be replicated elsewhere.
