Sarah Mirk
From Portland Afoot
Sarah Mirk is a news reporter for the Portland Mercury who writes frequently about transportation, especially bicycle and other traffic issues.
Her coverage of the Columbia River Crossing debate over replacing the Interstate Bridge has been described by pro-density activist Chris Smith as "the best of any of our mainstream media."
On her Twitter feed, Mirk describes herself as a "reporter interested in bikes, history, cities and other people."
She has also worked as a freelance writer and cartoonist and has written for The Stranger and Publicola in Seattle and Bitch Magazine. In 2010 she partnered with the Dill Pickle Club to create a series of small comics about Oregon history.
