Roger Geller is the bicycle coordinator for the Portland Bureau of Transportation.

He started working with the city as a project manager on bicycle issues since 1994, and has since worked full-time on the city's bike improvements.

Geller is proud of Portland's bicycle transportation facilities.

"We're probably the most bicycle-friendly large city in the country, probably in North America," he told a Traffic and Transportation class in November 2010.

"Bicycling is part of the social fabric of Portland," Geller said. "Part of the social, cultural and, increasingly, economic fabric."
