Public transit
From Portland Afoot
Public transit refers to mass transit that is run by the public through a form of government. Public transit agencies in the Portland area include:
- TriMet, in most of the metro area
- C-Tran, in Clark County, Washington
- The Portland Streetcar, which is actually operated by the City of Portland
- SMART, in Wilsonville
- CAT, in Canby
- SAM, in Sandy
- South Clackamas Transportation District, in Molalla
Of the Oregon communities not served by TriMet, most voted at some point to opt out of TriMet and create their own system.
