Powellhurst-Gilbert is a large neighborhood in southeast Portland and east Portland. It sits south of Hazelwood, Montavilla and Sunnyside, west of Centennial, east of Lents and South Tabor and west and north of Pleasant Valley.
The northwest part of Powellhurst-Gilbert is one of the neighborhoods with the fastest-improving commutes in the city, according to 2005-2009 Census data, with a 9 percent jump since 2000 (to 70 percent) in the number of workers commuting less than 30 minutes.
