Portland city code 16.70.210
From PortlandAfoot
Portland city code 16.70.210 requires pedestrians in the City of Portland to cross the street at marked or unmarked crosswalks, unless they are crossing more than 150 feet from a legal crosswalk.
Because every street corner in Oregon counts as a crosswalk under ORS 801.220, a city block or other stretch of road must be at least 300 feet long before pedestrians can legally cross. In downtown Portland, standard city blocks are 200 feet long. Outside the central city, they vary more widely.
This city rule is permitted under ORS 810.080.
