Pearl District

From Portland Afoot

Jump to: navigation, search

The Pearl District is a recently built walkable, bikeable, transit-oriented development just north of downtown in northwest Portland. The Portland Streetcar runs through the neighborhood, in which only about one in four workers owns a car.

In the early 2000s, it was the site of a hugely successful (and highly subsidized) redevelopment effort around the city's longtime "brewery blocks."
