Nutcase Helmets is a Portland-based helmet design firm founded in 2005 by by former Nike creative director and designer Michael Morrow. Morrow, an Oregon State University football fan, had been inspired by a multi-sport helmet he decorated by screwing yellow rubber duckies to the case, "symbolizing the impending doom of the rival Oregon Ducks," according to the company's website.

"The objective of Nutcase helmets is to combine highly visual graphics with multi-purpose helmet designs that are popular among bicycle, skateboard, scooter and in-line skate enthusiasts," the site says.
