The Metro president is the top elected official at Metro, the Portland area's regional planning agency. The president serves as the chair of the seven-member Metro Council and is the only politician who receives a full-time salary from the agency.

As of January 2011, the position was held by Tom Hughes, the former mayor of Hillsboro and the winner of a very close 2010 election.
