Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, once known as Union Avenue, is a major north-south thoroughfare through the central eastside and inner Northeast Portland. In Portland's central city, it's a one-way street that forms a couplet with Grand Avenue, on which the eastside Streetcar loop will begin to operate in fall 2012. To the south, it becomes McLoughlin Boulevard.
Northeast MLK Boulevard is a possible future site for Portland Streetcar expansion.
