TriMet fare zone
From Portland Afoot
TriMet fare zones are TriMet's system for charging based on the expense of delivering transit to a given area. There are three zones: TriMet Zone 1, TriMet Zone 2 and TriMet Zone 3.
Zone 1 includes downtown Portland and the city's innermost neighborhoods, including all of the Free Rail Zone. Zone 2 includes outlying Portland neighborhoods west of Interstate 205. Zone 3 consists mostly of East Portland and Portland's Oregon suburbs.
An all-zone TriMet fare is also valid on C-Tran anywhere in Clark County
Zone-1 tickets are available, but most people buy 2-zone or all-zone tickets.
