From Portland Afoot
Clackamas County, Oregon, sits just south of Portland and includes Oregon City, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, West Linn, Wilsonville, Happy Valley and part of Tualatin, among other communities.
It is the smallest of the three counties in the
TriMet service area, which give TriMet its name.

Lynn Peterson, chair of the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners, is a former TriMet employee and one of the metro area's strongest advocates for active transportation.
[ edit] Linked by rail in 2009
For the 80s, 90s and most of the 2000s, Clackamas County was not served by
MAX, unlike Multnomah County and Washington County. That changed with the opening of the Green Line in 2009. The proposed Orange Line would also run to Milwaukie, in the northern edge of Clackamas County.
WES, which also opened in 2009, also linked Clackamas with Washington County and the MAX Blue Line and Red Line by way of the Beaverton Transit Center.
