BTA commute workshop
From Portland Afoot
Bicycle Transportation Alliance commute workshops are hour-long classes offered regularly at the BTA office in downtown Portland and sometimes at workplaces in Multnomah County, Clackamas County and Washington County.
Classes at the BTA are free year-round. As of summer 2010, workplace classes are available for free in August and September, thanks to a grant from Metro and support from OHSU, and for a fee during other months.
The classes cover:
- safe and legal riding, though in less detail than a BTA legal clinic
- lights and rain gear
- carrying clothes, groceries and kids
- what to do about your hair
- route planning and maps
- how to use a TriMet bike rack
