From Portland Afoot

Art Pearce is a Portland Streetcar project manager for the Portland Bureau of Transportation. As of 2011, he had worked at PBOT for at least 10 years, and previously worked on the Portland Aerial Tram project.

Pearce recalled in 2011 that he had aged "in dog years" during the tram project, working in an on-site trailer, learning the names of almost every resident under the tram and having tea in their living rooms. He said the project taught him about overcoming opposition or disagreement and resolving major complaints from outside groups or neighbors.
