Active Right of Way
From Portland Afoot
Active Right of Way is a volunteer transportation advocacy and education group that supports active transportation in and around Portland.
AROW was organized in winter 2010 by graduates of Rick Gustofson's 2009 Traffic and Transportation class at Portland State University, including Ted Buehler and Ben Foote, who organized "Ben and Ted's Transportation Conversation" in Foote's downtown studio.
Buehler and Steve Bozzone later took leadership roles in the developing group, organizing volunteers to promote Portland's 2010 bike plan, co-sponsorting OPAL's September 2010 "Rally for the Bus" and leading quarterly bike rides to the sites of four local transportation problem spots.
