TriMet 85 bus
From Portland Afoot
TriMet's 85-Swan Island provides weekday service between the Swan Island Industrial District and Rose Quarter Transit Center, along Basin, Cutter Circle, Going, Greeley, Interstate, Wheeler and Broadway.
According to Portland Afoot's 2011 TriMet bus rankings, the 85 was the fourth most reliable standard service line in the system. In the previous year it had been no more than 1 minute early or 5 minutes late 90 percent of the time.
The 85 was also the second least walkable route in the system. Its bus stops had an average Walkscore of 40.3.
Swan Island TMA director Lenny Anderson said in May 2010 that the 85 was one of three bus routes in the city that he helped create.
According to TriMet bus operator Dan Christensen, short routes like the 85 (17 minutes long) seem to be most popular with the oldest and most experienced drivers.
