Portland Afoot's 2012 TriMet bus rankings were released in with its 10-minute monthly magazine for January 2013, the "Awards Issue." They were based on public records provided by TriMet in December 2012.

- MAX Blue Line - 244 trips per weekday
- 72-Killingsworth/82nd - 218 trips
- 4-Division/Fessenden - 174 trips

The top five frequent service lines:
- 57-TV Hwy/Forest Grove - 98 percent of vehicles arrive unbunched
- MAX Yellow Line - 97 percent
- MAX Green Line - 97 percent
- MAX Red Line- 95 percent
- 75-Cesar Chavez/Lombard - 94 percent
For frequent service routes, we think evenly spaced buses are more important than buses that keep strictly to schedule. Data are from TriMet records on weekday headway adherence at different times of day for September through November 2011. We weighted average headway performance during each of two directions and 5 possible time slots based on the number of trips during that time slot. See below for complete data on every route.

The lines that were most often standing-room-only, on average, in fall 2012:
- 35-Macadam/Greeley - 11 percent of peak-hour trips "above achievable capacity"
- 61-Marquam Hill/Beaverton - 8 percent
- 94-Pacific Hwy/Sherwood - 7 percent
- MAX Blue Line - 7 percent
- 72-Killingsworth/82nd Ave - 6 percent

[edit] TriMet's fastest-growing lines
The biggest jumps in average weekday rides per vehicle-hour from fall 2011 to fall 2012 (many of them related to service changes in September 2012):
- 18-Hillside - 193.8 percent increase since fall 2011
- 63-Washington Park - 110.3 percent increase
- 50-Cedar Mill - 43.3 percent increase
- 84-Kelso/Boring - 25 percent increase
- 53-Arctic/Allen - 18.9 percent increase

The biggest declines in average weekday rides per vehicle-hour from fall 2011 to fall 2012 (many of them related to service changes in September 2012):
- 65-Marquam Hill/Barbur Blvd - 21.4 percent drop since fall 2011
- 68-Marquam Hill/Collins Circle - 21 percent drop
- 47-Baseline/Evergreen - 20.3 percent drop
- 37-Lake Grove - 19.7 percent drop
- 70-12th/NE 33rd Ave - 18.6 percent drop
